Lalettan's versatility and natural acting style made him popular in the Malayalam film industry. He was born on May 21, 1960 in Elanthur in Pathanamthitta,Kerala. Lalettan's full name is Mohanlal Vishwanathan Nair. Mohanlal's first film was 'Thiranottam' (1978) was not released. So 'Manjil Virinja Pookkal' (1980) is his first released film.
